Back in 2023, I ordered this pillow through the company's Amazon page. I still have that pillow and to this day, it's the best body pillow I've ever had. It's pillowy and soft but also extremely supportive. My girlfriend loved the pillow as well, so fast forward to 2024 she purchased the same pillow through the company on Amazon. I also decided I wanted another body pillow for my bed, so I ordered the same one, but this time directly through the website. Unfortunately both of the 2024 body pillows are not the same as the one I purchased in 2023.
I currently have the 2023 and 2024 body pillows in my bed, and the new one just isn't filled with as many feathers as the old one. Last night I did a test where I hugged both pillows with my legs wrapped around them. I squeezed my legs together through the pillow to get an idea of the resistance. The old pillow, no matter how hard I squeezed, I couldn't get my legs to touch through the pillow. The feathers don't flatten out or create empty spots - it's just so dense with filling.The new pillow unfortunately, with very little effort, I could squeeze my legs and the feathers would disperse and flatten - I could easily get my legs to touch through the pillow and make it flatten out. If I had to guess, the new body pillow has maybe half as much filling as the old one, which is really unfortunate. The new one feels kind of crunchy and saggy, whereas the old one feels plump and bouncy.
If I didn't have 2 different versions of the pillow to compare to each other, I might like the newest version and be okay with it. It does list that it's medium support, which I would agree with. However the one I ordered in 2023 is just so much better in every way. I'm hoping that the company releases a firm version of this body pillow. Even at a higher price it would be well worth it. I'd pay double the price of the medium fill weight 2024 version to get the body pillow version I ordered in 2023 - it's honestly that good. Both versions of the pillow have the occasional feather poking out, but it's not so common that it's an annoyance.
Currently I have a 2023 body pillow, a 2024 body pillow, and my girlfriend has a 2024 body pillow as well, all from the same company. Both her and I love and fight over the 2023 body pillow and sort of tolerate the newer version. I'm sure economics and supply issues and costs and maybe other factors led to filling the body pillow with less feathers, but I'm hoping the company offers a firm version in the future - even at a higher premium price, it would be worth it.
If you're okay with a body pillow that has medium support, then this is still a great pillow. I've also had body pillows that were memory foam, and I would still choose this current pillow over the memory foam ones. The company hit a home run with the body pillow I bought back in 2023, it's just a little disappointing I can't purchase that same pillow anymore. I do recommend their body pillow cases, as the envelope design keeps the shape of the pillow, minimizing the feathers dispersing too much.
All in all, this is still a great company that makes great pillows and products. I have ordered 3 body pillows + pillow cases, a regular pillow + pillow case, and 2 pillow cushion inserts from this company and will continue supporting them. Hoping that they will offer a firm version of the body pillow in the future.
