About This Product:

This duvet is made with microfiber fill. Microfiber is soft and plush. It's a high quality polyester that's meant to mimic the softness of down. The shell is 260 thread count cotton, which is crisp and durable.

This duvet is generously filled. Microfiber doesn't have the same insulating properties as down, so microfiber duvets are heavier weight. We need a fair bit of fill to achieve the desired warmth. One benefit of a synthetic duvet is that it can be machine washed at home, given your machine is quite large and you wash/dry on a low heat setting. Natural down and feather are quite sensitive to moisture, but polyester is not!

This duvet comes in All Season Weight, which works well for room temperatures around 16 - 18 degrees C or if you’re fairly cool when you sleep.

Features:

  • Box Construction: Boxes to prevent content from shifting
  • 260 Thread Count:  Prevents fill from escaping
  • 100% Cotton: Fine cotton allows the fill to breathe
  • Corner Loops: Loops on all 4 corners to tie and anchor the duvet in place
  • Microfiber: Down-like luxury and benefits from technically advanced microscopic synthetic fibers
  • Easy Care: May machine wash and dry or have professionally cleaned / Filling completely re-lofts after washing
  • Hypo Allergenic: Synthetic Microfiber filling naturally resists bacteria and other allergens
  • Guaranteed Quality: Guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 3 Years
  • This product was tested for harmful substances and certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 VC025 232673 TESTEX

Love it

I just purchased my second Microfiber Duvet in less than a month. I bought one in Oct. and fell madly in love with it. I decided to purchase one for my wonderful caretaker, she's been working for me for 10yrs and this Duvet is the biggest raise that I can give her that will keep on giving her comfort for years to come.

This duvet is very warm and fluffy. Great weight - not too heavy yet you feel snuggled in. The outer material is very soft. I paired it with the zipper duvet cover - game changer. My bed feels like a luxurious hotel sleep every night now.

Very disappointed...

I'd hoped to love this duvet, but it's so 'lacking'. I ordered the queen size, and the first thing I noticed was it was basically flat, with no real loft (like another down-alternative duvet that I had purchased years ago in the UK). Even after the waiting period, it didn't gain any fullness. Although there is box construction, the microfibre fill is not evenly, and was never, distributed throughout the duvet. The majority is accumulated along the sides and corners, and no amount of shaking can quite get it to shift to the middle and stay. There are areas in the middle that are completely bare of filling, just the cotton material of the duvet itself. It's so frustrating to try a new company and be disappointed with a product, only to be faced with the hassle of returning it, having to replace it with something else, or go somewhere else. Obviously, I would not recommend this product.

Hi Shelle,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We’re sorry to hear that you do not find the duvet full enough! Although this is one of our heaviest duvets by weight, I'm sure there may be fuller ones out there. How do you find it warmth-wise? What you’re describing definitely does not sound normal. Since the boxes are sewn through completely, there should be no way for the fill to move (even with vigorous shaking). If the fill was not distributed evenly at the time of manufacturing, this would be covered under your product warranty and we'd be happy to help you out with a replacement.

Too Noisy!

The weight and construction of the duvet are fine but the cover fabric is far too crinkly and noisy. It’s like trying to sleep in parchment paper. Would not recommend. I will be returning.

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry to hear that your duvet was not a perfect match! The softness and feel of the cotton shell all comes down to thread count. Thread counts under 300 (like this one, which is 260), are crisp and starchy, and make more of a rustling sound with movement. For a softer, quieter shell, we recommend something in 300 thread count or above. In this case, I recommend the Gel Microfiber Down Alternative Duvet. It's exactly the same product in every way, except it has a 300 thread count shell.

You can learn more about thread count, here: https://www.canadiandownandfeather.com/pages/thread-count

I hope this helps!

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • What's the difference between this duvet and the Gel Microfiber Down Alternative Duvet?

The Gel Microfiber Down Alternative Duvet has a 300 thread count shell. The higher thread count makes the shell softer and less noisy. The Gel Microfiber Duvet also has a longer warranty period. The final difference is the fill type - Gel Microfiber is siliconized, making it slightly more slippery than regular microfiber. This difference is not overly noticeable though and doesn't impact the overall feel of the product. These duvets are the same weight and warmth level.

  • What is the duvet's tog rating

Our weights don't line up perfectly with the tog scale, but our All Season is in the 12-13 range or thereabouts. Quite warm, and best for cold sleepers or room temps around 16-18C.
