About This Product:

This pillow is filled with care in Canada. The pillow is filled with goose feather. Feathers provide great support in pillows, due to the feather quills. The outer shell is quilted 255 thread count cotton. The quilting results in a thicker, more cushiony shell, which creates a buffer against the feather, making the quills less noticeable than in a traditional feather pillow.

The Soft version is supportive, but flatter, and works for front and back sleepers. The Medium version is relatively full and supportive, and works for all sleeping positions. The Firm version is quite supportive and puffy, so it's best for side sleepers. While feather pillows do have some give, they'll cradle your head more than a sinky, squishy down pillow.

Care

This pillow should be used with a pillow case and a zippered pillow cover/protector at all times. Failure to do so will cause premature wear and invalidate the warranty. A properly covered pillow will help eliminate stains and the build up of body oils, dirt, and dust. This will also help allergy sufferers.

Take your feather pillow outdoors periodically and air it or place in the dryer on a low heat/cool cycle. This helps maintain its freshness, fluffiness and insulating qualities.

Prior to use, shake the pillow vigorously to help fluff up the feather. It will take about 1 week of use before the outer fabric softens up and the feather lofts up to its full potential.

There may be a slight odour as a result of having been stored in the packaging, but it will disappear within the first week of use.

This product should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated closet or room when not in use in order to prevent mildew growth.

Cleaning Instructions:

A properly maintained pillow should require cleaning approximately once a year, with normal use. It may be cleaned more or less often depending on use.
Your pillow is covered in 100% cotton and filled with natural feather. It will shrink if washed, possibly causing puckering in the stitching and loss of the filling.
Should your pillow need cleaning, have it DRY CLEANED or PROFESSIONALLY WASHED by a reputable cleaner that specializes in cleaning down and/or feather products.
DO NOT attempt to machine wash or dry clean this product yourself. If the filling stays even slightly damp, the feather will clump together and may allow mildew growth.
Small spots or stains may be removed by holding the fabric away from the filling and using warm water and mild soap. To dry, use a hair dryer on low heat.

Honestly the best pillows I've ever owned, or used. I suffer from Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and was repeatedly struggling with shoulder, and rib subluxations from every single brand of pillow I tried. These are the first pillows I've ever used that I don't have to worry about that happening.

I am disappointed in the pillows. In my eager anticipation for my new fluffy feather pillows I ripped off the tags assuming they would be just as soft and squishy as my old ones. Sadly they are not soft and squishy. I wasn’t sure of the weight or fill to get so I chose three different ones. I am surprised at how big the 25 oz ones are. I like the 16 oz one but even it is bigger than I like. Aside from all that tho I am surprised that the quills are so stickery. Even with a quilted pillow cover and thick flannel case I can feel the quills. I am hoping that over time they will get crushed down and be more comfortable.
I would suggest you carry an even smaller pillow than the 16 oz size. That would be my favorited. But I probably won’t purchase from you again because of the quills.

Thank you so much for the review! Yes, as you pointed out, feathers do have quills. From what you're describing, it sounds like you had a down pillow previously. Down pillows would be characterized as soft and squishy. Down and feather are very different materials indeed!

In future, we highly recommend giving your pillows a good feel and leaving them in original condition before sleeping with them. You can return them for free and purchase a different type if the feel of the fill doesn't meet your expectations.

Disappointing and really wanted to like

We slept on some magnificent Canadian Down & Feather Company pillows on holiday in Whistler Village, BC. Pliable but not sinky, stayed fluffy and did not flatten all night. We are usually sensitive to down or feathers but not these. Combined with the down comforter and being on holiday in the forest it was the best nights sleep ever. We were excited to purchase 2 of these pillows some months later hoping that by the description they were the same pillows we had at the hotel. Sadly, not. These start off firm-ish though soft due to the feathers, but they just flatten completely and harden in the night. The ones in Whistler where soft but firm and not too sinky through the night, so possibly not 100% down... We have tried so many pillows that just go flat and we dont like foam or latex. Pillows cant be returned so it has been quite the waste of money searching for the right pillows : (

I'm so sorry the pillows didn't work out for you! I don't believe we supply pillows to any hotels in Whistler, although it's possible they have purchased some through a distributor. If you can get photos of the sewn-in labels from the hotel, we can figure out which pillows you used there! I will say that hotels don't typically buy these Quilted Feather Pillows, so I'm guessing it was a different model.
You're correct that a pillow that stays firm throughout the night is probably not a down pillow. It is most likely feather or down alternative.
We do recommend giving pillows a good feel when you receive them to ensure they meet your expectations. We can't accept back used pillows, as you mentioned. Uncomfortable Pillow

Bought this pillow a year ago and now feathers won't stop poking through the material.
I take great care of the pillow and do right by it but the quality diminishes rather quick.
I wouldn't recommend purchasing this pillow, I find myself plucking feathers out of it quite often.

Hi Brock, Did you reach out to us for help with this issue? Your product comes with a warranty against manufacturing defects, such as leakage. Your pillow is made with feather-proof cotton fabric, and these pillows actually have additional layers / lining to them as part of the quilted shell. Of course, there can be a batch of faulty fabric or some other defect causing the leakage. We'd be happy to take a look at them and provide a repair or replacement accordingly.
Also hoping to hear where you purchased the pillow from, as we don't have a record of an order from you on our website.

So far I like it . I hope I can get better sleep.
