FAQ - Is My New Product Ready To Use?

Your product is ready to use upon receipt! Here's what we recommend doing after receiving your quilt or pillow.

Hi Ed, I’m so sorry to hear that! That does sound unusual as we have not noticed any odour in our warehouse or had the same complaint from other customers. Duck down and feather does have a higher likelihood of developing an odour than goose material, so you may be happier with the regular Down Perfect Pillow for that reason. If your pillow arrived with a really strong, pungent odour, this may qualify for repair or replacement under warranty. However, since you haven’t used the pillows yet, it’ll be easier to just return them and purchase a new pair than go through the warranty claims process.

Hi Ann, I’m so sorry about that! The white text on the yellow background is hard to read. We will do better on the next iteration of the packaging. You can find all of the care and maintenance instructions and product details on the product page on our website!

I just received some of your Hutterite Down Perfect pillows I ordered from JC Penny’s and they have a terrible smell. From what I’ve read on your site this isn’t normal. You can smell them as soon as you walk into the room. They have been airing for 24Hrs and don’t seem any better. Do you have any suggestions or should I just return them?

I have poor eye sight and cannot read the cardboard insert for our new “white feather and down” duvet Care and Maintenance – even with a magnifying glass. Please send me the instructions via email. Thank you!

Hi Harold from 2019 :) We’d just like to update you that we do now offer duvet covers that fit our duvets precisely!

How often should they be cleaned and I am assuming dry cleaned?

Hi John,
You can start using it right away, but just be aware that it won’t be fully lofted for a couple days, and it may not provide its full insulating capacities until after it’s fully lofted!

I should let it fluff up for 48 hrs before using the duvet?

Hi Harold, I’m so sorry, we don’t have duvet covers. We specialize in down and feather products!
