About This Product:

This quilt (aka doona or duvet) is filled with care in Canada. The cotton shell is 260 thread count, so it is crisp and durable. The quilt is filled with 550 loft duck down. Down fill is soft and luxurious, made up of tiny, fluffy clusters. This quilt is fairly lightweight, but you'll find this quilt contains more fill than a quilt with higher loft down. This is because the higher the loft of the down, the better the insulating properties, and the less of it we need to achieve the desired warmth level!

Summer Weight is great for hot sleepers or room temperatures of 22 degrees C or higher. Opt for Regular Weight if your room temperature is around 19 – 21 degrees C or if you’re fairly warm when you sleep. All Season Weight is best if your room temperature is 16 – 18 degrees C or if you’re a cooler sleeper.

Care

This duvet should be used with a duvet or comforter cover at all times. Failure to do so will cause premature wear and invalidate the warranty. A properly covered duvet will eliminate the need for a top sheet. This keeps bed making to a minimum and allows you to enjoy the light, cozy feeling of your duvet.

Prior to use, shake the duvet vigorously to help fluff up the down. It will take about 1 week of use before the outer fabric softens up and the down lofts up to its full potential.

There may be a slight odour as a result of having been stored in the packaging, but it will disappear within the first week of use.

Take your down duvet outdoors periodically and air it. This helps maintain its freshness, fluffiness and insulating qualities.

This product should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated closet or room when not in use in order to prevent mildew growth.

Cleaning Instructions:

A properly maintained duvet should only require cleaning after five to ten years, if at all.
Your duvet is covered in 100% cotton and filled with natural down. It will shrink if washed, possibly causing puckering in the stitching and loss of the filling.
Should your comforter need cleaning, have it DRY CLEANED or PROFESSIONALLY WASHED by a reputable cleaner that specializes in cleaning down and/or feather products.
DO NOT attempt to machine wash or dry clean this product yourself. If the filling stays even slightly damp, the down will clump together and may allow mildew growth.
Small spots or stains may be removed by holding the fabric away from the filling and using warm water and mild soap. To dry, use a hair dryer on low heat.

It’s good quality but way too small :(

We’ve had our duvet for a year now, and I don’t often write reviews, but felt I had to for this product. Down duvets aren’t cheap and so this purchase tugs at my heart still every single day when I see it.

The duvet quality and warmth is great. Unfortunately, the size is just way too small for most conventional king size duvet covers. Our main cover is a beautiful (expensive) west elm cover and unfortunately this duvet is nearly 10 inches too small on the sides! I’ve tried everything from putting our duvet cover in the dryer to shrink it, to rotating the duvet inside, but the size difference between the duvet and the cover is just too significant. I had read a couple reviews here before purchasing this duvet that warned about the same thing, but I decided to take a gamble and try it anyways. I do regret it :( because our beautiful bed now looks floppy and I just hate looking at that edge of the duvet cover that is so obviously empty and flat. It drives me nuts!

I’ve since read on a few forums that many people upsize their duvet to get things looking fluffy - ex. They buy an extra-large king duvet for a regular king cover. It’s expensive to have to buy another but that’s likely what I’ll end up having to do. Best of luck!

Hi Kat, Agh, I am so sorry to hear. It is not a nice feeling when a big ticket item doesn't work or fit as you hoped. :( Really appreciate you leaving this review as I imagine it will help other shoppers.
Unfortunately duvet and duvet cover sizes are not standard across the industry. Sizes vary widely, and the only way to know if you're getting the right size is to check the product dimensions (ours are posted on each product page as well as on our Standard Dimensions page). For those who have a cover that they love, we strongly recommend checking the dimensions first. If you do decide to purchase a larger duvet (from us or any other brand), check the dimensions of the insert against the dimensions of your cover, even if the size name of the insert sounds bigger. Try to get the dimensions as closely matching as possible, and ideally, have the insert an inch or two larger than the cover.
I hope you can find something that works better for you in the future. I am glad to hear that at least this duvet is functional in the meantime.

The best duvet and brilliant company

Purchased an XL king-size for our king-size bed which ended up being the perfect size for having a bit of overhang. Perfect temperature for myself and my partner who are warm sleepers and prefer a colder room. No smell at all, no down came out when handling or putting on a duvet cover, and just took a day or so to puff up. Customer service was absolutely brilliant and helped me navigate delivery during the postal strike. I honestly cannot recommend this company and this duvet enough.

This duvet seemed so wonderful for the first 1.5 years. Light, crisp... didn't overheat me or my partner. We have had the duvet for 3 years and the fill has changed even with the baffle boxes. One side is flat and the other side has all the fill. I should have read the fine print about the warranty. The size also doesn't fit the 2 king covers we purchased for it and it is swimming in the cover.

I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't had a great experience with your duvet. Duvet and duvet cover sizes vary by brand and manufacturer. It is best to check the dimensions to ensure they match. We do offer duvet covers that match our duvets precisely, but there are others that fit on the market. Your duvet is constructed with baffle boxes. There are small openings between the boxes - this is how the duvet gets filled! Down shifting across boxes is fairly rare. Down is so lightweight that it doesn't really have the heft or weight to force itself through the openings. It also tends to cling to itself within the box. But it is possible and we do see it happen occasionally. It could be due to sitting or laying on the bed a lot, baffle box openings that are larger than normal, or a number of other factors. I don't see that you've reached out to us for help with this issue. If you'd like us to redistribute the down and/or close the openings, please do reach out to us! I hope to get some more clarification about the fine print you're referring to as well. We definitely don't want anything to be hidden or unclear, so I'd like to understand what you mean by this. Finally, I would love to know when you noticed the shifting. You purchased the duvet in 2020 - so was it mid-2022 that you noticed it happening?

The information on the web site was perfect, it helped me to purchase the right one. I was also surprised how fast deliver was. I love my All Season Duvet. The fabric is crisp and tightly woven. The weight of the duvet is perfect for me , I feel. warm and cozy and yet I don't feel any weight on me.
